There were a fair few storylines to pick from once the hysteria died down following the Dutch Grand Prix at Assen.
Valentino Rossi's 80th win in MotoGP after a drought of more than two years, Jorge Lorenzo riding to fifth place just 36 hours after having a titanium plate and eight screws inserted into a broken collarbone, and rookie Marc Márquez's sixth podium in seven races all gave plenty to keep fans delighted.
The battle at the top remains tight too with Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa maintaining a slender 9-point lead over Lorenzo after he finished fourth at Assen.
