Since forming in 2009, Family of The Year has shared the stage with, among others, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, fun., and Mumford & Sons. The folk-rock project was deemed one of the “25 Must Hear Artists” by SPIN.com, had their recent single 'Hero' reach number 12 on the Billboard Alternative Songs Chart, and have played on Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel, Conan and Carson Daly.
In early August, Family of the Year made their way to Chicago to perform at their first Lollapalooza, an experience vocalist/drummer Sebastian Keefe says is one they will remember for the rest of their lives. We snuck backstage and followed the Los Angeles band at their Lolla debut. This is how things went down:
