After remixing Daft Punk, Nicolas Jaar and Dave Herrington offer a taste of the new Darkside album.
Back in June, Darkside, the collaborative project of Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington, floored us with 'Daftside,' their beautifully dark full-album remix of Daft Punk's 'Random Access Memories.' And now a debut album of original Darkside material is on the horizon.
Last Tuesday, Darkside hosted a listening party for the album in Manhattan. Yesterday, Jaar and Herrington shared the first 11 minutes of it. The segment is streaming above, and also available as a free download here.
Much like 'Daftside,' and Jaar's excellent 2011 album, 'Space Is Only Noise,' the music is hauntingly mesmerizing, and even more apocalyptic and sci-fi. An official release date has not been announced, but keep a close eye on Darkside's Twitter activity. There is no telling when this thing will suddenly drop. We predict it will be very soon.
