The Brooklyn band drops the song 'Tempest,' ahead of the October release date for their new album.
Brooklyn band Lucius fronted by dual vocalists Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig has shared a new song, 'Tempest,' ahead of the October release date for their debut album, 'Wildewoman,' via Mom + Pop Music.
It's the second song they've shared off 'Wildewoman,' and even after only two songs, the range on the album is very apparent. 'Hey, Doreen,' the first song, was a hard-driving rocker with soft verses followed by a loud chorus (a la Pixies). 'Tempest' is melodic in a '60s throwback way with harmonized vocals throughout, jangly guitars and heavy reverb on the drums.
When we interviewed Lucius a couple of weeks ago before a sold-out show in Brooklyn, Wolfe and Laessig, friends since college at the Berklee School of Music in Boston, said their voices instantaneously connected to each other. “We didn’t have to practice to be able to sing like that — though we do practice,” said Wolfe.
