The video is cryptic, details are vague, but Arcade Fire has a new album and something is happening.
Arcade Fire, the Grammy-winning Canadian rock band, has been providing very cryptic messages that will ultimately lead up to something very obvious: a new album. It is called 'Reflektor,' and it will be released October 29 through Merge. James Murphy, of LCD Soundsystem and DFA Records, helped with production.
Today, a mysterious 40-seconds-long video popped up on Arcade Fire's website titled 'Reflektor 9/9/9.' While a soft drone and beat slowly build, we see a few shots of the band working in the studio, and of the ocean or some body of water.
This video, in conjuction with the recent information conveyed on the side of a building in Manhattan, confirms that something Arcade Fire-related will indeed be happening on September 9, at 9 p.m. What will it be? Probably a video or a new song.
