Why was the band decked out in Adidas ahead of their tour with Queens of the Stone Age? Find out.
In three short years, New York City band Guards has grown from a promising solo project by Richie Follin to a rock trio with an album of '60s-tinged power pop songs. Touring in support of the album, 'In Guards We Trust,' Follin, Kaylie Church and Loren Humphrey are currently on the road with Queens of the Stone Age, after which they'll open up for MGMT in Europe. Pressure? Not for this trio. “We’re actually getting a new guitar player we’ve never played with," says Follin. "We’re going to practice like two days and then we’ll be ready. We’re professionals."
Follin, Church and Humphrey recently spent a week in Los Angeles, where they performed at FYF Fest and rehearsed for their tour at Swing House in Hollywood. Our photographer Catie Laffoon tagged along one busy afternoon, as the band ran a string of errands -- and got two parking tickets.
