Yesterday, pop icon Madonna gave what might be The Worst Reddit AMA Ever.
Remember when Madonna was the coolest and most interesting person in the entire world? So do we. Whether she was wearing an "Italians Do It Better" shirt while hanging with her tough friends and rebelling against her mean dad (see 'Papa Don't Preach'), or striking amazingly awesome and fabulously glamorous poses (see 'Vogue,' above), she was the best. Everything she did deserved to be part of an immaculate collection.
Nothing lasts forever. And we all know Madonna is way past her prime. But, yesterday, when she did a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) - cleverly titled AMAA (Ask Madonna Almost Anything) - it may have been the final nail in Madonna's coffin of cool. Madonna's responses were so dull and uninspired, it was almost as if a battery operated Madonna robot (which probably really exists somewhere) was answering the questions.
When someone asked her if she really was the one answering the questions, Madonna responded that it was "my housekeeper im vaccuming the housekeeper is typing." When asked "When r we going on a canoe ride??" Madonna said "when you send me a canoe." When asked "what do I need to do to make you go on a date with me?" Madonna replied "send photo." Snore.
The most awkward moment was when someone asked Madonna what gay man she would turn into a straight man if she had the power to turn gay men into straight men. Rather than question why she would want to have such a power in the first place, Madonna said: "frank ocean." Hmmm.
In Madonna's defense, this is exactly what happens when you allow the Internet to ask you questions. The questions were mostly boring and dumb, so of course Madonna provided boring and dumb answers.
There were a few exceptions, however, like when someone asked Madonna about Sigumd Freud and she said she prefers Carl Jung because Freud "was too celebral and a misogynist." And, when asked about what current political issues she is passionate about? "Censoring of artists, around the world. Censorship - for instance Pussy Riot," responded Madonna.
Someone also asked what it is about the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo that inspires her. Madonna said: "that she was the subject of her art all of her work is a self portrait and yet she shared universal stories and feelings by sharing her personal story also she was a freedom fighter and she lived a controversial life and was a survivor so i admire her life story and art the way she lived her life as well as her art"
