Eminem, Lady Gaga, Arcade Fire and others performed at the first ever YouTube Music Awards show.
How prestigious is it to win a YouTube Music Award? Perhaps one day it will be as meaningful as a Grammy or an MTV Moonman. But it is too early to tell right now because the first ever YouTube Music Awards happened just last night.
It was hosted by Jason Schwartzman and Reggie Watts, and directed by Spike Jonze. There were performances by Eminem, Lady Gaga, Arcade Fire, M.I.A., Tyler, the Creator and Earl Sweatshirt. There were some important people there, including Greta Gerwig, the actress. Sounds cool.
Oh, and there were also some awards. Here is a list of the winners:
Video of the Year: 'I Got A Boy,” Girls’ Generation
Artist of the Year: Eminem
Response of the Year: Lindsey Stirling & Pentatonix, 'Radioactive'
YouTube Phenomenon: 'I Knew You Were Trouble' by Taylor Swift
YouTube Breakthrough: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
Innovation of the Year: DeStorm, 'See Me Standing'
Do you think this should happen again next year?
