The 14 Best NSFW Music Videos of 2013

Do not watch these videos by Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke and Moby at work. You will be fired.

14. Robin Thicke, Pharrell, T.I. - 'Blurred Lines'

#THICKE had a lot of fun this year. His big hit single, 'Blurred Lines,' with Pharrell and T.I., was all about fun. So was the video. Both of them. There were two. You probably should not watch either version at work, but definitely do not watch the unrated version with your boss in the room because there are many half-naked women dancing around. The men, of course, wear suits.

13. Moby - 'The Perfect Life'

Wayne Coyne, of The Flaming Lips, is really into NSFW videos. He has done many of them in recent years. So many, in fact, that they are starting to overshadow his music. That aside, this was one he did with Moby for Moby's upcoming album 'Innocents.'

12. Flaming Lips - 'You Lust'

See? Here is Wayne Coyne once again at the helm of another naked vid. This tune from The Flaming Lips' 'Terror' was originally about 13 minutes long, but it was chopped up to make a NSFW soundtrack. Classic Coyne.

11. The Flaming Lips, Bon Iver - 'Ashes In The Air'

Oh, surprise! Here is Wayne "NSFW" Coyne and The Flaming Lips one more time for a bonkers nude-y vid of this Bon Iver-featuring tune off 'The Terror.' This one made almost no sense whatsoever.

10. Major Lazer - 'Bubble Butt'

This video for the big hit by Diplo's Major Lazer was directed by Eric Wareheim, the guy from 'Tim and Eric.' It was weird and ridiculous and over-the-top, and there were parts of it that will get you fired for sure.

9. Albert Hammond Jr. - 'St. Justice'

Remember The Strokes? Hammond Jr. is one of the people in it. This video for his single 'St. Justice' was like an aging hipster romance fantasy. It could even serve as a follow-up to LCD Soundsystem's 'All My Friends.' It seemed to say: "It is never too late. Do not give up. Older people can find love."

8. Trentemøller - 'Candy Tongue'

Strange song, stranger video. Images of bodies morphed and transposed into sometimes haunted and grotesque and beautiful shapes. Very art-y.

7. Foals - 'Bad Habit

For this gorgeous video, the lead singer of Foals wandered around in the desert. He looked very dehydrated and tired and on the edge of death, and so he followed around a naked woman, who seemed to be leading him somewhere. We won't tell you where she led him. No spoilers here.

6. FIDLAR - 'Cocaine'

You may recognize the dude rampaging in this crazy video by FIDLAR. It's Nick Offerman, the guy who plays Ron Swanson in NBC's hit sitcom 'Parks and Recreation.' He's a pretty wild dude in that show, but he took it to a whole new level of wild (and inappropriate) here.

5. Jon Hopkins & Purity Ring - 'Breathe This Air'

'Breathe This Air' was one of the great tracks from 2013 Breakthrough Artist Jon Hopkin's great album 'Immunity.' He did a remix of the tune with Purity Ring, and then dropped this artsy vid to go along with it. There was a bit of nudity here, so the NSFW tag was appropriate, but unlike, say, 'Blurred Lines,' there was much more to it than bodies.

4. Justin Timberlake - 'Tunnel Vision'

There were many sexy songs on Timberlake's 'The 20/20 Experience' albums. And this was the sexiest video from the project. It showed Timberlake dancing around, which is something he always does well, and, well, we cannot really say what else happened here.

3. David Bowie - 'The Stars (Are Out Tonight)'

No, Bowie did not take his clothes off for this video starring Tilda Swinton. But it was a wonderful, heavy short, and it offered further proof that Bowie and Swinton sorta look alike. Cheers to Bowie for making a joke out of it and for making a powerful clip too.

2. Nick Cave - 'Jubilee Street'

No, Nick Cave did not take his clothes off on this dark and gloomy, disturbing but excellently made video from 'Push The Sky Away.' Unlike quite a few of the aforementioned videos, there was an actual story and narrative here. Remember narrative?

1. Tame Impala - 'Mind Mischief'

All the NSFW stuff in this silly, trippy video for a song from Tame Impala's 2012 gem 'Lonerism' happened in the mind of the protagonist, and it all happened in a cartoon world that riffed on Van Halen's creepy student anthem 'Hot For Teacher.' But that does not make it any less work inappropriate. Enjoy, but wait until you get home.
