Last summer, Linkin Park announced a contest. Artists could submit an original song to be judged by Linkin Park and members of Linkin Park Underground. Two winners would be chosen, and flown to Red Bull Studios Los Angeles to work with Linkin Park on a new song. Plus, there was a chance that this new song would appear on Linkin Park's then-upcoming album 'LP Underground 13.'
Many submitted songs, but there were only two winners; one of them was a San Francisco band named Beta State. And late last year, they went into Red Bull Studios with Linkin Park on the LPU 13 Sessions. After a few days of hard work, they emerged with 'Change.'
Along with several unreleased Linkin Park demos, and a song by the other contest winner, Ryan Giles, Beta State's 'Change' appeared on 'LP Underground 13.' You can listen to it above.
Below, watch a behind-the-scenes video of Linkin Park and Beta State working together in the studio, and see how the Grammy Award-winning rockers helped the up-and-comers improve their songwriting process and recording skills.
In other Linkin Park news, the band's sixth studio album, 'The Hunting Party,' will be released on June 17. Pre-order it here.
