Knuckle Puck, the young pop punk band from Chicago, is in the throes of their first Vans Warped Tour with about two dozen dates under their collective belt so far. When we recently got band member Kevin Maida on the phone, it was one of their few days off between shows. What were they doing on their day off? Sitting in a parking lot in Secaucus, New Jersey, trying to figure out what to do on their day off, of course.
“We don’t know what we’re gonna do, but we’re gonna take it easy, and it’s gonna be fun,” said Maida. “I look at off days as a reset button, to catch up on sleep or whatever. Warped can be stressful at times, but it’s been a blast. We’ve met a lot of new people on tour and we’ve been getting some great reactions from the crowds.”
The only thing troubling Knuckle Puck right now is that they’re only playing one song from their upcoming debut album, “Copacetic.” It’s due out July 31, on Rise Records, but the band isn’t filling their set lists with the new tunes until their next tour. Patience.
If patience isn't your thing, today you’re in luck because we're thrilled to premiere Knuckle Puck’s “Copacetic” album in all its ferocious glory a week before the official release date. Stop what you're doing and listen to it right here.

“We wanted to cross as many different paths as possible and not have our sound be expected or predictable,” says Maida about "Copacetic," which was recorded at the Always Be Genius Studio with Seth Henderson. “We wanted to try as many new and exciting things as possible, and treat it as a brand new opportunity to expand our sound.”
“We’re growing as a band,” Maida continued. “I don’t think we’re the same band as we were when we put out our first EP. This album is a definitive statement for us, it’s a new chapter and a new beginning.”
