Maxim Kruglov was born in 1989. The Chudovo native grew up in a small, quiet town – his only exposure to skateboarding was via American movies and cartoons. Up until he was 12, Max’s thing was football, but it was all-change when he got his first board.
At first, he began to hang out with a small posse of local skaters. At 15, his mother gave him a 'proper board', and things got serious.
Of course, skate spots were pitifully limited.
“There was only a piece of asphalt, and my desire-” he explains “the streets are unforgiving when you fall.”
His love drove the young Russian to progress really quickly, and after a couple of good comp results he showed his heart was matched by plenty of natural talent, too.
Since 2001, Max has given his all to skateboarding, and these days can be found encouraging the next generation to take up skating at workshops like Local Hero.Read more
