Skateboarding and Culture Clash in Kuala Lumpur

Don't miss a massive kickflip over a two story gap in episode two of "Away From the Equator."
By Eric Mirbach

Kuala Lumpur is best known for the iconic Petronas Twin Towers and their epic ramadhan buffets, but what it should be known for is its lesser known but equally as awesome skate scene. The second episode of "Away From the Equator" rolls on with Ryan Decenzo, Madars Apse and Barney Page taking full advantage of the unique skate spots of KL, including a gnarly roof-to-roof gap, an artistic mini-ramp and a perfectly placed double set.

Check out the 3:46 mark for Ryan Decenzo's kickflip over a second story gap.

The skateboard trip through Malaysia has been a clash of cultural traditions with an insane level of skateboarding. The architects who designed KL probably had other ideas in mind when building the city, but might have been skateboarders in a previous life.

Check back on Tuesday, July 15 for part three of "Away from the Equator."
