The pro snowboarder was voted by fans as the X Games Best Male in Action Sports contest.

UPDATED:

For the past month, XGames.com has been holding its own online version of March Madness by ranking the top 32 male action-sports athletes and placing them in an online bracket competition. After beating Torstein Horgmo in the final round, Travis Rice took the title of Best Male in Action Sports with a popular vote of 53 percent to 47 percent.

Horgmo, the 26-year-old snowboarder, is one of the "leaders of the next generation of snowboarding," said Rice, in an interview ahead of Red Bull Ultra Natural in February. "Torstein had an incredible year last season, with X Games victories -- and he just won Big Air again down at Aspen. He also just came out with a film called 'Horgasm,' which is basically a full-length film that he shot in almost a full year."

But for all of Horgmo's achievements last year, it would have been tough to rank him above Rice, who created Red Bull Ultra Natural (and its predecessor, Red Bull Supernatural) out of sheer will and imagination, and put out the monumental snowboard film 'The Art of FLIGHT,' which followed Rice and his crew to the most remote peaks on the planet. The film is considered a landmark of snowboarding and cinematography, and reached the top of the iTunes most-downloaded film chart for its premiere week in 2011. The 3D version came out in 2012.

Before being matched up with Horgmo, Rice beat out Sean Pettit, Nyjah Huston, Paul Rodriguez and Travis Pastrana. Voting ended April 11 and now the partying begins.
