Handplants are one of the best tricks in snowboarding. They are one of the moves that connect us to our skateboard brethren; a trick that pays homage to our culture's past. To the untrained eye they look simple, but the fact of the matter is that they take a certain precision and strength that takes time to master.
JP Walker held an amazing event that brought together some of the best handplanters is the business. Bear Mountain played host and created plenty of hips, walls and quarterpipes designed for the riders to showcase their planting ability. The rider list was heavy, with the likes of Simon Chamberlain, Scott Stevens, Marko Grilc and the Don himself all throwing down numerous inverts. The riders were split up into two different teams and battled throughout the day in each zone. With points awarded for each stomped trick, the team with the most points would be declared the winner.
