It's rare these days to think of Team USA as an underdog in any sport. Being a world economic power has its advantages. In Red Bull Crashed Ice however, us Americans have been exactly that -- we've been the Charlie Brown on ice skates, losing out the Finnish, Swedes, and gasp, Canadians for years.
But that's all about to change. Cameron Naasz along with Tigh Issac, Adam Green have been training hard for the upcoming 2014 season of the World Series. Racing 40-plus mph on a downhill ice luge packed jumps, bumps, rollers and other obstacles on a pair of ice skates is now second nature to the trio. The Americans are ready to tackle the world.
2014 Red Bull Crashed Ice Schedule:
February 1: Helsinki, Finland
February 22: Saint Paul (MN), USA
March 8: Moscow, Russia
March 22: Quebec City, Canada
Watch the Americans battle in Red Bull Crashed Ice at home in St. Paul, Minnesota, live on February 22nd at 7 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Paul or on FOX Sports 1 on February 24 at 9:30 p.m. ET. We might not be battling Cold War Russia in Hockey, but we're past due for another miracle on ice.
