Check out the freeskiing fest in the Italian Alps including action from Legs of Steel.
The fifth edition of the legendary FIAT Nine Knights in Livigno, in Italy, featured some of the world's top freeskiers, including the Legs of Steel crew...
The unforgettable week-long event on the colossal “Castello” produced many incredible images.
Paddy Graham and the Legs of Steel crew take a rest. A blazing sun warmed Livigno throughout the week and many rad sessions went down on the various features of “Il Castello” perched on the pistes of the Mottolino Fun Mountain.
The free-flowing format of Nine Knights makes it unique, as everyone can choose what feature to session and with many photographers and filmers on site everything is captured and recorded.
Six years ago, Nico Zacek, of the Marker Völkl team, had the ambitious idea of building a massive castle out of snow, with a bunch of jumps and rails to try and attract the best skiers in the world for a week-long session...
What was just an idea six years ago has turned into an eagerly anticipated event at the end of a busy international freeski calendar, featuring the likes of Benedikt Mayr.
It was a chance for everyone, including Legs of Steel, to session an awesome feature all week, create amazing photos, push the sport and generally have a fun time with their fellow freeskiers.
“I was blown away by the magnitude of this feature,” said O’Neill team rider David Wise, who was recently crowned AFP Halfpipe World Champion. “From the jumps, to the jibs, to the halfpipes: there are just so many options. I have never skied a feature like this!”
Freeskiing crew Legs of Steel band together to hit the course at the same time.
Bene Mayr freeskis 'Il Castello'. Nicky Keefer was declared “Ruler of the Week” and winner of the “Best Style” award, while David Wise won the “Best Trick” award.
