Lolo Jones: bobsleigh training photos

The USA's hurdler-turned-bobsleigher has been in Park City, Utah, preparing for the World Cup.

Just one year after having taken up the bobsleigh for the first time, Lolo Jones already has a gold medal from the World Championships in St Moritz under her belt. We caught up with the multi-talented athlete at the USA's base in Park City, Utah, as she gets ready for the extremely busy winter season ahead.

Lolo says: "Last year, I was just soaking everything in. It was an adventure, it was fun, it was nothing really on the line for me. It was just kind of an escape and there were no expectations. So now coming into my second year, they expect me to be more knowledgeable and more of a leader."

Ms Jones is no longer even the newest push athlete on the team, having played a part in recruiting Lauryn Williams, a 4x100m gold medallist from 2012.

Speaking about Williams' success in qualifying for the team so quickly (she first touched a bobsleigh in July 2013), Lolo commented: "I was like, 'Oh, gosh, I'm going to regret recruiting her if she beats me out for the team.'"

Lolo is one of six push athletes in the USA Women's World Cup team for this season and competition is fierce. Every training run is important as she works hard on her technique and her times.

And they're off!

After the World Cup, Lolo will be hoping to make the cut from six push athletes, down to three for competitions later in the season. US Bobsled CEO Darrin Steele said: "The hard work and dedication has paid off and I couldn't be more proud of all these athletes."
