Every three months, eight emerging artists enter the Red Bull House of Art in the heart of Detroit to create without limitations.
Last May, the Red Bull House of Art, welcomed Lisa Poszywak, Tylonn J. Sawyer, Kristin Adamcyzk, Lindy Marie Shewbridge, William Harris, Kevin Skinner, Greg Siemasz and Ellen Rutt. The artists were curated by Matt Eaton.
“It’s supposed to represent a variety of different artists and mediums,” Eaton told us when the Red Bull House of Art first opened in 2012. “I’m curating personalities, people who are passionate about what they do and the process. I think it turned out being a diplomatic broad selection of work without forcing my taste.”
On April 11, the next cycle of artists will be unveiling their work. The opening is poised to be the biggest yet.
Red Bull House is located at 1551 Winder in historic Eastern Market. Openings are free and open to the public of all ages. In between cycle unveilings, the gallery is open each Saturday and hosts a variety of events in between each opening.
