If you're a sports fan, you had to be buried under a rock if you didn’t catch a bit of the DeAndre Jordan situation in July. As a refresher, the free-agent Los Angeles Clippers center agreed to sign with the Dallas Mavericks ... then reversed course. He re-signed with the Clippers, in the process setting off an emoji saga for the ages.
When All-Star forward Blake Griffin got wind of Jordan’s potential change of heart, he quickly booked a trip from Los Angeles to Jordan's home in Houston to help persuade him to return to the Clippers. The social media-savvy Griffin told the world of his plans with a simple tweet:
This emoji-driven bomb naturally spread like wildfire. Basketball media and fans all understood what Griffin's tweet meant, and some other NBA players joined the fun:
Anyways, it all turned out beautifully in the end (for the Clips; not so much for the Mavs).
