After only a handful of swings on the qualifying carousel, Mitch Crews prepares for his WT debut.
Strategy: Patience for the most quality waves. I've always been sloppy in terms of my wave selection and this is an area I could improve in. Obviously if you're surfing good on the best waves that come in the heat, you should progress. It ain't the science of rockets.
Dream Heat: A final against Kelly at Snapper. Opening event ever for me competing on the world tour. Right at home with family and all my pals watching. And surfing against the greatest surfer ever. What's not to love?
Predictions: I reckon there is going to be a world title race between John John, Julian and Medina. I think that next year could be the year that the top crop changes and youth starts to prevail.
Expectations: I'm setting realistic goals that I believe are achievable for me. I'm aiming to be well inside the Top 22 by the end of year. Then from there I'll aim for bigger goals like top 10, top 5, Número Uno etc.
