“Umlazi is my childhood… It’s one of those places that will never leave me.” Sunday 31 May was not only a big day for Umlazi, but a huge day for Nkosinathi Maphumulo, aka DJ Black Coffee.
Black Coffee was born in Umlazi and Red Bull Kas’Lami 2015 was something for a homecoming for him and Okmalumkoolkat. “It’s one of the most amazing feelings to be back here,” said an ecstatic Black Coffee during the event. “…for this homecoming. Its a great concept!”
Black Coffee shares his thoughts and experience:

But it wasn’t just about the music and the fans for Black Coffee and the trip held even deeper meaning. “I got to go home and see my mom, and its been a while. I didn’t even realise time had flown by so fast.”
