The first street dance competition to be hosted entirely on TikTok, the Red Bull Dance Your Style Challenge has drawn talent from all over the world. The carefully selected wildcards – who got a bye into the finals without auditioning – have roots on four continents, specialise in different dance styles and each bring their own unique creativity. But they also have one thing in common: they're all talented dancers who put a phenomenal amount of energy into their careers.

Take hip-hop dancer Amelia Miquel, aka Amely Mel's, who's back after representing France in Red Bull Dance Your Style last year. Originally from Perpignan and now living in Paris, she's in demand as a dancer and choreographer for artists and brands, and also has her own dance studio, Le Loft Dance. Somehow, amid taking wins at Juste Debout in Spain, Belgium and Italy, as well as at other national and international battles, she's even managed to get a Master's degree in marketing.

California-based Kevin 'Konkrete' Davis Jr. has worked with Jabbawockeez, Chris Brown and Taylor Swift, and he travels the world to teach. His amazing krump moves have made him a standout in TV competitions like America's Best Dance Crew (Top 4), World of Dance (semi-finals) and So You Think You Can Dance (Top 20), but this multi-talent is not only a dancer – in fact, he sees himself as a musician first.

Another wildcard who specialises in krumping is Jojo Akams. AKAMZTWEENTY first came to attention for pranking Paris, as he launched into moves in Metro cars and street cafes. Even actress Kerry Washington called out one of his videos. By 2019, he was a world finalist in the EBS krump championship. The 20-year-old, who's also danced on French national TV with singer Camélia Jordana, says he loves sharing his art and "craziness" with his followers – all four million of them.

The only UK-based wildcard, Kieran Lai, works in multiple dance styles, with particular strengths in illusionary dance forms, popping, waving and tutting. He was a semi-finalist in Britain's Got Talent, a FreeSpirit finalist and, in Japan, a Dexterity Dance League finalist. Lai lives near London in Essex, where he studied marketing at University of Essex, and he's in the cast of the award-winning West End musical & Juliet.

Originally from South Korea, Dassy Lee has relocated to pursue her career in Los Angeles, California. Known for popping, she too has captured international wins and was a finalist in Season 14 of So You Think You Can Dance. Lee claims to be shy, but you'd never know it – her credits include the So You Think You Can Dance Live Tour, Cirque du Soleil, the American Music Awards and commercials for major brands.

A dance teacher, she lives in Barcelona and has roots in Venezuela.

Pro dancer and choreographer Joffrey Anane, or ananethedancer, communicates "with dialects of body language." Hip-hop and house mastery has taken him to the closing rounds of national and international battles, like Red Bull Dance Your Style Belgium (twice) and Juste Debout. Further, he's a dance judge and theatrical performer and he works to pass on his experience to the next generation.
Who rules the dance floor? You decide. Watch the wildcards battle eight adversaries from November 30 to December 13 and then vote for the winner, exclusively on TikTok.
