One of the most exciting things about playing a MOBA is that they are always changing – and League of Legends is no different. Big updates or new champions can fundamentally alter how you play the game and draft your team, while even the smallest tweaks to existing champions and their abilities can see them rise or fall in the meta. Sometimes, though, a champion reaches a point where he or she is no longer viable and more drastic work is required.
Champion reworks have been a common occurrence throughout the history of League of Legends. Go all the way back to 2013 and you’ll see the likes of Karma and Trundle were some of the first champions to have their kit or playstyle completely revamped. Since then, reworks have given a burst of new life into some of the game’s forgotten heroes and Riot still have more lined up in the future.

LCS Pro Q&A Episode 6
We ask pro players questions related to gameplay that are fun and informative.
Pro players have to be especially aware of when Riot make tweaks to ensure they keep on top of any new strengths and strategies. Seeing how a new kit or ability change may synergise with existing champs or catapult them to a new level of popularity is what make them some of the best players in the world. But what would happen if they were given the power to rework champions themselves?
In our latest interview with players in the LCS, we give the pros a chance to dream up their own champion reworks. Players such as Erlend 'Nukeduck' Holm from Team Vitality gives us long, detailed and well-reasoned thoughts on why Azir is the champion he’d like to see reworked. He suggests bumping up the sand emperor's damage while cutting his mobility and utility to position him as a stronger mage.
Some reminisce on the good old days for champions such as Leblanc, Graves and Corki and wish they could be reworked back to their previous incarnations. Others would like to see more complexity added to champions such as Ashe. And then there’s Alex 'Xpecial' Chu who has some thoughts on how Riot could improve Soraka. “They should rework her out of the game,” he says. Mic drop.
