Under the close supervision of his ex-Superbike-racing dad, Paul Feeney, Broc has rapidly ascended through the Supercars ranks – racing in the Super3 series in 2019 and in Super2 in 2020 and 2021. For his next trick, Broc will move into the main series (taking Jamie Whincup’s spot) at the beginning of 2022.
Broc has that rare combination of talent and work ethic, which has helped him hold his own against drivers nearly twice his age since he’s been competing. He raced his first Supercar at the age of 16, and became the youngest-ever winner in the Toyota 86 Racing Series (having won two races).
It might be a cliché, but Broc has gasoline in his blood (his parents actually met at a race track), and he is leading the next generation of future Supercars champions from the front. “I couldn’t have dreamed about this a few years ago,” he says of his rapid ascent into the main series. “I cannot wait for the challenge, so I’m trying to prepare myself as early as I can. It was only a few years ago that I was sitting on the couch, watching these guys. And now I’ll be racing and banging doors with them. The challenge is certainly going to be exciting.”
And to top it all off, Broc is stoked to have Red Bull riding shotgun with him. “As an athlete, it’s the one brand that everyone dreams to be associated with,” he says. “To partner with [Red Bull] at 18 is something I could’ve have dreamed of.”
