From the race track to alpine trails and viral videos, young Austrian rider Johannes Wibmer is building a big reputation for blending top-level motocross skills with next-level creativity right now.
Born in 2004 in Lienz and raised surrounded by snow-capped alpine peaks in tiny Kals am Großglockner, Johannes has always had plenty of open space to express himself on two wheels. He first hit the throttle of a motocross bike at just four-years-old, tearing through the fields of his hometown, and raced for the first time in 2010. In 2018, he was runner-up in the Austrian junior championships on an 85cc KTM and he again took second in the title race in 2023 - this time on a 125cc GasGas. The rising freeride talent isn't just about track speed and big airtime however. He’s a creator at heart who's always got a camera close by.
Known for his epic, action-packed videos that bring a whole host of other genres into motocross content, Johannes brings the same energy to storytelling as he does to riding. Passionate, fearless and always pushing the limits - that’s Johannes.
And yes, going big on a bike runs in the blood. His cousin Fabio Wibmer is a global freeride star who's created some of most memorable mountain bike content of recent years. We can't wait to see what Johannes Wibmer can capture on film.
