Growth
Red Bull Dance Your Style, which began in 2018, initially featured 14 countries and 29 events. Over the years, the event has grown from strength to strength due to the demand of the dance community.
By 2019, it expanded to 29 countries and 60 events. In 2020, due to global circumstances, the competition adapted to a single global online event. The momentum continued in 2021 with 27 countries and 90 events, followed by 33 countries and over 130 events in 2022. The growth trajectory reached new heights in 2023 with 46 countries participating and over 160 events taking place. 2024 was no different with yet more countries (48) and more events (160) being added to the Red Bull Dance Your Style calendar.
As Red Bull Dance Your Style continues to evolve, it shows no signs of slowing down. The event looks set to extend its reach even further into 2025 and beyond, maintaining its status as a prominent platform for dancers worldwide. The competition’s ability to adapt and expand highlights its enduring appeal and significance in the global dance community.
In Australia the event has run since 2019 and even included an online-only event in 2021. This year marks the biggest and best yet.

What is Red Bull Dance Your Style?
The street dance battle hands control to the audience. Dancers face off in 1v1 freestyle rounds to surprise tracks. There are no judges – only crowd reactions. Each battle draws from foundations like hip hop, locking, waacking and more. It’s about rhythm, instinct and presence – not choreography. The format reflects the roots of the history of street dance and its evolution into crowd-led performance.

The 2025 Season – Dates, Stops and Format
More than 100 qualifiers will take place globally. The season wraps on October 11 at the World Final in Los Angeles. Dancers qualify through local and national events.
In Australia, the national title will be decided in Sydney on July 26. The winner earns a place at the World Final, joining dancers from over 50 countries.

A Brief History of the Competition
Since 2018, Red Bull Dance Your Style has grown into a global platform for freestyle street dancers. The format flips tradition – audiences vote, music is unexpected and each round is unscripted.
Australia joined the competition in 2022, quickly becoming a standout scene.

Red Bull Dance Your Style Australia Returns to Sydney
On Friday, 25 July, Liberty Hall hosts an open-entry qualifier. Four winners from that night will move on to compete in the 2025 Australian Final the next evening at Hordern Pavilion.
They’ll join 12 wildcards chosen by leading voices from Australia’s dance community. The event features live performances from VV Pete and JESSB, is hosted by Xaddy Xander and Unice Wani and includes guest coverage from Daniel Stance. DJ Kez will close the night with the official afterparty.

Who’s Battling at the World Finals in 2025?
MT Pop, the 2024 World Final champion from Mumbai, returns to defend his title. Other global contenders include Rubix, Kyoka, Diablo and Majid – each representing different interpretations of freestyle.
Dancers showcase styles like hip hop, house, waacking and krump, all of which are part of the Dance Your Style style guide. Each performance is spontaneous, shaped by instinct and crowd energy.

Is Red Bull Dance Your Style Improvised?
Yes. Each battle is improvised from start to finish. Dancers hear their track for the first time live and respond in the moment. The format reflects the essence of freestyle and the core rules of a street dance battle.

What is the Prize for Winning?
There’s no cash prize. The winner earns global visibility and the Red Bull Dance Your Style title. For many dancers, that means invitations, creative collaborations and opportunities worldwide.
