Jordanian Ahmad Daham’s slow and steady entrance into the world of drifting began as a teenager when he was given a modified car by his parents as a gift, taking him away from the the basketball court to the racetrack.
In 2011, at 24 years old, he started taking on drifting, participating in Red Bull Car Park Drift and impressively winning his first three events.
In addition to holding the Guinness World Record for the longest twin drift, Daham stacked up a series of big wins. He followed up his 2014 Jordan Drift Championship by winning the Red Bull Car Park Drift championship that same year, repeating the feat in 2015.
In 2016, he was crowned King of the Desert in the annual King of Desert series – a title he retained in 2017. Daham also claimed first place at the Emirates Drift Championship in Abu Dhabi in 2018, successfully defending his title the following year
A favourite saying of his is “sideways is the new way forward”, showing he’s keen to do things his way. While still competing, he completed his university studies, earning a degree in Management Information Systems, but for now the focus is still on drifting and adding to his growing list of wins and podium finishes.
Always wanting to go faster, he taught himself early on to tune engine control units, turning it into a profession to provide a good source of income to finance his own race cars.
Daham is a driver and tuner who's always been on top of the game in the region, pushing himself and his car to the limit to please crowds. He cites as mentors his older brother Basil and his mother and father, who've been supporting him throughout his career. With a huge fan base all around the Middle East, he always takes the time to talk to his fans, giving them advice on tuning and driving.
