From a young age, David Alonso loved watching motorbikes on TV with his parents so when he made the leap into the world of racing he had the full support of his family.
Excelling in various race series, David believes that he learnt the most from his time in CEV when riding an 85GP. Needing victory in the final race of the season to win the championship, he grabbed first place on the final lap to claim the title. "I realised that until you pass the flag, nothing is decided."
Always willing to put in plenty of hard work, David won the European Talent Cup in 2020 and the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in 2021.
These impressive results led to David being signed by the Gas Gas Aspar Team and in 2021 he made his Moto3™ World Championship debut, replacing the injured Sergio García at the Emilia Romagna GP. The following season he made his second start at the Portuguese GP as a wildcard rider.
In 2023, David made his full debut in the Moto3™ World Championship with the GAS GAS Aspar Team and made it clear very quickly that he's a champion in waiting. It took him just four Grands Prixto score his first podium, a second place at the Spanish GP, before going on to score four victories and another three second places to finish the season third overall in the Moto3™ World Championship to complete a remarkable debut season.
Staying the with newly-named CFMOTO Aspar Team for 2024, David put Colombia on top of the motorcycle racing world for the very first time with an incredible season that saw him ride to the Moto3™ world title with an incredible 14 wins from 20 start – setting the record for the most wins in a season in the process.
Now, Moto3™ awaits David for the 2025 season and beyond, as he steps up to the class with his CFMOTO Aspar Team. Don't expect to wait long before he's challenging for the title here as well.
