Hannah Prock was born with the athletic gene. Her father, Markus Prock, is an absolute luge legend. Her older sister, Nina, also followed the family tradition and took her luge skills to the world championship level. As if that wasn't enough, she's also the cousin of ski jumper Gregor Schlierenzauer.
Her path to elite sports may have always been mapped out, but there was no guarantee that the route would lead to the top of the luge track. Hannah's aptitude for athletics has manifested in many sports: she started climbing at six and played volleyball at eight. Luge training didn't even begin until she was nine.
However, when the time came to focus on a sport, Hannah was certain: she wanted to follow in her father's footsteps and go hunting for medals on the ice track. An early career highlight came when she successfully qualified for the 2018 Winter Games in Pyeongchang and was the second-best Austrian on her debut.
Now a regular on the Luge World Cup, Hannah finished 2021-22 season in eighth place overall and also enjoyed an impressive showing at the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing as he finished in fifth position.
Ahead of the next Winter Games in Italy, Hannah has proven to be in the form of her life after claiming a first Luge World Cup win in Winterberg, Germany, setting her up for a big year in 2026.
