Kriss Kyle dreamed of becoming a pro BMX athlete from the moment he received his first bike and began ripping round his hometown of Stranraer, Scotland
His first major competition win came at The Transgression Skatepark Jam in 2008 and soon after, Kriss became a resident at Unit 23, one of the largest skate and BMX indoor parks in the UK.
The opportunity for him to own the park – and all the lines in it – led to a huge and rapid increase in his riding ability.
Kriss is, without doubt, one of the most exciting riders in the world and his profile as one of the most energetic and electrifying park riders globally has earned him some significant air time.
Podium visits and memorable video edits
In 2012, he made his mark competing in the prestigious Simple Session event in Estonia, as well as grinding it with many top riders at Red Bull Skylines in Paris, and has since gone on to earn spots competing in X Games events around the world.
His video edits have received rave reviews, too, notably his drop in to Dubai, his Kaleidoscope film and Out of Season, which sees him apply his signature flair to the world of mountain biking in an all-out trail riding edit.
In 2023, Kriss Kyle again took BMX to new heights – literally, this time – as he tethered a carbon fibre BMX bowl to the underside of a hot air balloon and rode his bike 2,000ft (610m) in the sky.

Jumping over an F1 car
In 2025, Kriss delivered another memorable video part as he successfully jumped over an F1 car driving straight towards him.
Reflecting on the jump, he said: "It was one of the scariest things that I have ever done! Hearing and seeing the car come hurtling towards me was crazy but I just had to clear my mind and concentrate on what I needed to do to make it over. It has been a dream come true to achieve this feat.”
Tackling the impossible obstacle course
In 2026, Kriss put his bike skills to the test as he took on a floating obstacle course at Eastnor Castle Lake in the UK. Spanning more than 200m, the unique track consisted of seesaws, wall rides, skinny logs, a ladder bridge and a tightrope.
