In the 2015-16 season, he posted 116 points in just 57 games and helped lead the Knights to an OHL Championship and a Memorial Cup victory, securing MVP honours in both.
In 2015, Mitch achieved his dream when the Toronto Maple Leafs selected him fourth overall in the NHL Draft. He tallied an impressive 61 points in his rookie season, which included breaking a 73-year club record with 42 assists in 77 games. Over the past several seasons, Mitch has consistently ranked among the league’s top playmakers, hitting a career-high in points with 99 in the 2022-23 season and setting a franchise record with a 30-game point streak in 2023.
Some of Marner’s early accolades include being named an NHL All-Star on three occasions, a nomination for the Ted Lindsay Award in 2022, and representing Canada on the international stage, including the World Juniors and World Championships.
But beyond the stats, Marner has exhilarating creativity on the ice and is regularly praised for his defensive contributions and leadership. Off the ice, Mitch is active in charity work through his Marner Assist Foundation. His raw talent and skill, determination, and connection to fans make him a true hometown hero and one of hockey’s most elite players.
Mitch was named to Canada’s roster for the Four Nations Face-Off in February 2025. As one of Canada's best players all tournament, Mitch capped it all off by assisting on the winning goal in overtime to give Canada a 3-2 victory over the United States, adding to the lore of the rivalry between the two nations.
