The Dime Glory Challenge has been postponed to Sunday August 31st due to weather.
The Dime Glory Challenge isn’t your average contest; it’s a full-blown carnival of creativity, absurdity, and world-class talent, staged with the precision of a Hollywood stunt show and the heart of a classic backyard session. Flaming volcano ramps, dodgeball battles on four wheels, rails that stretch into the stratosphere. It’s skateboarding unchained.
For one electric weekend at the end of summer, Montreal becomes the epicentre of controlled chaos, as some of the planet’s best skaters throw themselves into a gauntlet of challenges designed to entertain as much as they inspire. It’s part sport, part spectacle, and all glory. A living, breathing reminder that skateboarding is as much about fun and imagination as it is about skill.
In 2025, the Dime Glory Challenge is returning bigger, louder, and wilder than ever.

Celebrating 10 Years of Dime Glory Challenge

As we approach the 10th anniversary of this celebration of skateboard culture, it’s important to take a look back on past years to truly understand how this event came to be a staple in the sport.
Skateboarding has, and always will be, a little unconventional. Many look at it as a sport, but others see it more as an art and a way to express themselves through style. Yet, regardless of which side of the board you fall on, the general aspect of pushing progression is always present in the skate world.
Back in 2015, a group of tight-knit skaters wanted to flip the competitive world of skate upside down. All they wanted to do was ride for the joy of it, the fun of it, and the love of it. It was a way to switch from the norms and go back to why they first started skating in the first place.
Enter the Dime Glory Challenge. The first-ever event took place inside a warehouse in Montreal, with smoke-filled air, parking lot parties, and absolutely zero structure. But that was the point. They didn’t want any judges or scoring criteria – just a bunch of made-up challenges straight from their own imaginations.
The concept was simple: experiment, push boundaries, progress, and put on a damn good show for the fans. Many laughs were had, many wipeouts were witnessed, and an iconic event was born. Some skaters might have walked away with a few extra dollars in their pockets, but the essence of the event was more about amusement and culture rather than podiums and medals.
Check out Thrasher Magazine's Dime Glory Challenge 2018 recap video:
Over the past decade, the event has cemented itself in the skateboarding world and attracted skaters and fans alike from every corner of the earth by constantly engineering new features that seem to come out of a cartoon show.
We’ve seen gaps get bigger, rails get longer and skinnier, quarter pipes with flames shooting out of them, and skaters going faster. The Dime Glory Challenge is back for 2025 after a 2-year hiatus, and it’s guaranteed to be a full-blown spectacle like nothing you’ve ever seen before.

What’s New For 2025

This year, for the 10th anniversary, the Dime Glory Challenge isn’t just coming back – it’s leveling up. On Saturday, August 30, Montreal’s IGA Stadium will transform into a skateboarding arena of pure madness, built to push the world’s best skaters past the edge of reason and into the land of legends.
With five all-new challenges, a pumped-up crowd of thousands of fans, and Dime’s signature flair for the ridiculous, 2025 is shaping up to be the most unhinged edition yet.
Here’s what’s waiting in the gauntlet:
  • Volcano Challenge – A flame-spitting spine ramp that dares riders to blast over molten chaos. If you’ve ever wanted to see a skater literally fly through fire, this is it.
  • Valdez Challenge – A narrow ledge attack launched from an expanding roll-in. The speed builds, the margin for error shrinks, and the crowd goes ballistic.
  • Pyramid Challenge – Four skaters, one pyramid, and endless possibilities for lines, transfers, and mid-air improvisation.
  • Dodgeball Challenge – It’s exactly what it sounds like: world-class skaters hurling dodgeballs at each other while landing tricks. Mayhem guaranteed.
  • Big Bank Challenge – A mind-bending rail setup that looks like it belongs in a fever dream. This is the “watch zone” where you can expect history-making moments or spectacular wipeouts.
What the 2025 features will look like:
The weekend of skate-fueled chaos kicks off Thursday night with Dime’s infamous block party, where the city of Montreal gets a taste of what’s coming, and Sunday keeps the momentum rolling with the Dime Street Challenge, taking the action back to raw concrete and urban creativity.
This isn’t just a contest. It’s skateboarding turned into a three-ring circus, and everyone’s invited.

Why The Dime Glory Challenge Is Must-See

Most skate contests measure scores. The Dime Glory Challenge measures the crowd's reaction to a mash-up of elite skateboarding, slapstick theatre, and stunt-show chaos, gauging how loud the crowd screams. It’s a place where you’re just as likely to see a flawless frontside flip as you are to watch someone ollie through a wall of fireworks.
This is the rare event that makes hardcore skaters, casual fans, and first-timers all lose their minds at the same moment. There are no clipboards and no dull lulls between heats, just non-stop action. And with a DJ rattling the stands with a killer soundtrack, it’s the kind of atmosphere where anything can (and usually does) happen.
Watch the skaters throw down at the Dime Glory Challenge back in 2022:
Every obstacle is designed to push the skaters out of their comfort zone and into the unknown, forcing a mix of creativity and flat-out commitment. The result? Viral moments, legendary tricks, and the kind of pure skateboarding joy you can’t manufacture anywhere else.
For one weekend, Dime turns Montreal into the skate capital of the world.
