Montreal’s 2026 Red Bull Heavy Metal course is built on the iconic site of Montreal’s Olympic Stadium, more precisely on the west section of the Olympic Park. Originally, the Olympic Park was constructed for the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games. A few decades later, several sections of the site naturally became popular with snowboarders thanks to its unique urban features.

During the process of identifying the ideal location to host Red Bull Heavy Metal in Montreal, this specific area was recognized as the perfect setting for a major street snowboarding event. The existing concrete structures allowed the design team to create an outstanding course while preserving the original character of the site, without denaturalizing the installations.

There will be three distinct zones that make up the 2026 course:

Zone 1

Zone 1 will allow riders to perform technical tricks on simple flat rails. The most impressive section of this zone is located at the end of the rails, where riders must clear the gap and drop to reach the landing. This zone offers a perfect mix of simplicity, amplitude, and risk.

Zone 2

Zone 2 will definitely be one of the most impressive sections of the course due to the amount of air both options provide. On both features, riders will showcase spins, flips, and high-amplitude tricks.

Zone 3

This rail will be a defining moment of the event. While massive in scale, it still respects a key aspect of street riding: the possibility to perform technical tricks. Riders will struggle to make it through the entire length of the rail, but those who reach the final down section will have the opportunity to execute highly technical, complex, and impressive tricks.
