Originally from Halifax, now based in Toronto, Ryan Hemsworth has always made music untethered by geographic or genre borders. Throughout the years, he’s worked and toured with many Montreal acts including Jacques Greene, Kaytranada, Lunice and RYAN Playground (who put out her 2016 album Elle on Secret Songs), so it’s only fitting that he return to the city to celebrate the release of his third studio album. Out Sept. 21 via Secret Songs/Last Gang, he’s quietly been working ELSEWHERE for the past two years, and the result seamlessly fits into his catalogue, while bringing new collaborators into his world. On this night, The Phi Centre will play host to a portal into Ryan Hemsworth’s latest record, with help from visual associate Jon Eisener, designer Allister Lee and a slew of surprise guests.
