The best attacking operators in Rainbow Six Siege - if you're playing solo

Rainbow Six Siege analyst Alex "Z1ronic" Dalgaard breaks down the best operators for attacking when you're all alone

When attacking in Siege time is not on your side.
This is harder if you're playing solo, so the best bet in Ranked is often to stick to a simple plan and try to follow through with it.
The best move when you're on your lonesome is to try to make accurate in-game calls, ignore any toxicity that can throw you off your game and play as head-on as possible, limiting the damage roamers can do to you, and hopefully letting you move up with another player so you can refrag /support them and move forwards.
Refragging is a positive thing for the attacking side. A refrag occurs when two attackers move in supporting each other, and when one player is killed by a defender, the second operator picks up the "refrag" on the temporarily exposed defender and keeps pushing forwards. As an attacking game is all about pushing forwards, a one for one trade gives the attacking team control of the area they're attacking and a slightly weakened opponent, making it a positive trade.
To help, here are four attack operators that have a mix of fragging power and utility to ensure you're in the fight and add something to the team, while allowing you to get a lot of work done on your own

Zofia

Armour 2 / Speed 2
Zofia is starting to get a bit of a rep, being known as Ash 2.0. While she isn't a three-speed operator like Ash, she fills a similar role in the team with access to two explosive grenades and two concussive.
Zofia ensures you'll have many options and ways of using your gadget but, as a solo player with no guarantee of back-up or support, remember that each gadget use has to be worth it. Nothing will shut down your round faster than using your grenade launcher to open a door only to see one of Castle's reinforced barricades, an Evil Eye camera or even one of Goyo's explosive shield's just inside. Be mindful!
Her concussive grenades can also help against Bandit tricking by using a concussion grenade to kick Bandit out of his animation, check if there's anyone in a room or end of a hallway and to stop a defender from disarming the defuser. The fuse on the concussion grenades is also proximity-based, so it'll explode instantly if it gets near an opponent.
Be careful in case of Jager's ADS and Wamai's MAG-NETs as these are both hard counters to your grenade launcher. With regards to secondary gadgets you can choose between a Claymore or Breach Charges, and you should mix these up depending on the map you're playing.
Zofia has a little more responsibility than Ash so your goal isn't to just rush in and see how many frags you can get, but to balance aggression and utility use, supporting the push to the objective.

Hibana

Armour 1 / Speed 3
As one of the three hard breachers currently available in Rainbow Six Siege, Hibana is practically essential. Hibana has very high utility and is versatile, and with her gadget you can open a lot of angles for your team. On a map like Clubhouse for instance, you will be able to choose from three hatches, or you could open up a ground-level hole to crawl through in dirt tunnel, or blast through walls on site.
Crucially, be sure to communicate what you're opening up to your team as you will sometimes need help getting this done - removing Mute Jammers, Kaid Electroclaws and Bandit's shock batteries. Hibana can often be picked as a second hard breacher and played a bit more freely than Thermite and Maverick - being able to keep your distance while opening helps with survivability.
Don't be afraid to bait people with the X-KAIROS pellets by firing them at a wall inside the site and forcing defenders to focus on removing them. This pulls their view away from the door or window for a few seconds and can give you time to charge in and get the kill.
You also have great fragging ability with Hibana, so don't be afraid to play her a little more aggressive than you would with Thermite - Open up a few lines of sight for your team and join them in the final push.

Armour 2 / Speed 2
The ultimate soft destructor - Buck's C8 assault rifle is loved and hated: while the recoil of his main rifle is remarkably high, so is the damage output!
Buck will require more practice to be comfortable with the others but with time and work he's a one-man wrecking crew.
You don't have endless shells for your underslung Skeleton Key shotgun but you have more than enough to quickly Swiss-cheese the site from above limiting all the good anchor spots on-site. Similarly, you can make rotate holes with just one shell from a distance which makes movement quick and easy. While you can't destroy Evil Eye cameras and Castle barricades like Sledge, you do have two frag grenades that can get this job done, or can be used to clear behind reinforced walls after opening above - your imagination is the limit with Buck!
Never underestimate the Skeleton Key either. If you know a defender is close around the corner, swap to the gadget and blast them to another dimension.
Overall, Buck is great for vertical control of a site, hunting roamers, covering flanks and even entry fragging. He has a very high skill ceiling and is invaluable for

IQ

Armour 1 / Speed 3
If it runs on batteries she'll see it. Don't like getting spotted all the time? IQ can spot EVERYTHING from Black Eye cameras, to Echo drones, phones and all other electronics. IQ has an arsenal that makes her a viable fragger, with utility that makes her a great support, and you can swap from one to the other mid-round.
An average round for IQ should be to clear as many of the defender gadgets as possible to take away intel from the defenders - scan for Gu mines, Mozzie pests and anything else you can easily take out.
However, where she really shines is how she can interact with very specific gadgets. If Pulse is on his scanner you can see and shoot him through the floor, with Vigil having the same weakness.
Once the defuser has been planted, if it's on a soft floor or with a soft ceiling, you can play vertically with your electronic scanner out and see the Defenders counter defuser gadget; leaving very little for them to do but accept death.
Be careful though, the scanner hampers your fragging ability so try to make sure there are no defenders around when you look for gadgets, or be ready to quickly switch back to your main gun!
