In The Crew Motorfest, the open-world racing game series reinvents itself once again. The third installment takes you on a tour of the Hawaiian island of O'ahu, which you can explore as you please. Getting started is always tricky! But in our guide, we provide you with the best tips and tricks for hitting the ground running in Hawaii.
01

Start with the Hawaii Scenic Tour

Once The Crew Motorfest has familiarized you with the basics, you’re released into the open world, where you can explore to your heart’s content.
Events are divided into different playlists, all of which have various themes. Five of them are available for you to choose from at the start of the game.
Our recommendation: Start with the playlist called "Hawaii Scenic Tour". This not only introduces you to the various vehicle classes of the game and gives you an understanding of the history of Hawaii, but also features boat and airplane races.
At the end of the tour, three vehicles are up for grabs. The perfect introduction!

Save your money... at first

Completing events in Motorfest rewards you with Bucks, the title’s in-game currency. You’ll need Bucks to dive into the over 600 vehicles the game has to over. High-performance sports cars, in particular, can sometimes tear a deep hole in your virtual wallet, not to mention open-wheel machines like the infamous Red Bull RB18. However, you don't have to spend a single cent for the first playlists. The game will provide you with a free rental car, making it easy to bank the Bucks earned from those events. Better save your hard-earned money for further along in the campaign, you'll need it.
03

Complete playlists in full

Each playlist has a certain number of events. Sometimes there are eight races to be mastered, with occasionally there even being ten. You can complete these events in any order, and could switch to another playlist if you wish. However, it is recommended that you complete playlists in full before moving on. After all, you always get a vehicle as a reward for completing them.
In addition, you'll unlock challenges for your newly unlocked vehicle afterwards.. If you stay behind the wheel in your shiny new ride, you can kill two birds with one stone.
The challenges are fairly simple and most complete themselves. Sometimes it’s as easy as logging a few kilometers on the odometer . This is a good way to bag a few additional extras to add to your experience.

Iron out driving errors with the rewind function

The rewind function has been a standard feature in racing games for several years now and of course it features in Motorfest. Accidents and driving mistakes can be undone in no time - at least in single-player events. Don't be afraid to use the function to improve your score in a race. It’s always faster than restarting the event from the beginning.

Experimentation Encouraged

Nobody said you had to stay on the racing line.

The Crew Motorfest relies mostly on checkpoint events from point to point or on circuits. In these events, you don't have to follow the traffic rules or always stay on the asphalt. Many races offer enormous shortcuts that can save you several seconds of time. Don't be afraid to drive over hedges, tire stacks, lampposts or other environmental hazards, especially if you see that the next checkpoint is far away.
06

Use “Fast Fav” to your advantage

Fast fav is convenient... most of the time.

Once you have completed the Hawaii Scenic Tour, The Crew Motorfest will give you both a boat and your first plane. This will also unlock a very handy feature called "Fast Fav".
At the push of a button, you can switch between land, water and air at any time. Of course, covering large distances by air is particularly fast and saves a lot of time.
This is especially useful in the first few hours of the game, since you only unlock the fast travel function (with the exception of playlist starting points) later in the game.

Equip Upgrades

“Perf Parts” improve the performance of your vehicles.

© Ubisoft

For completing event objectives, The Crew Motorfest rewards you with “Perf Parts”. These are performance upgrades ranging from engine blocks, exhaust systems, transmission upgrades and more.
These improve the top speed, acceleration, braking or cornering grip and can give you a real advantage for races. To do this, regularly check the “Vehicles” section of the main menu to install new parts. Each tuning part has its own rarity level and power level: An engine block with level of 843 increases power more than a variant with a level of 826.
Each part is assigned to a specific vehicle category and is unique to each individual vehicle once used. This means that if you equip the Red Bull Formula 1 car in the Alpha GP class with an engine block, it cannot be installed in any other vehicle in the class. So use the best parts wisely on vehicles you plan to use frequently.

The rarer a part, the more “affixes” and benefits it includes.

© Ubisoft

The rarity levels can provide special advantages in the form of what Motofest calls an “affix”. This could, for example, provide higher prize money or increase off-road capability. The rarer a part, the more affixes there are.
Tips

Scrapping tuning parts

Parts that are not needed can be scrapped.

Roll the dice again

You need the materials to reselect add-ons and (hopefully) improve them.

Play Online!

The Crew Motorfest even offers a Battle Royale-style mode

© Ubisoft

Online events are worthwhile in The Crew Motorfest, because you'll earn significantly more Bucks for completing them than single-player races.
Currently, there are two online event types on offer:
  • Grand Race: A long race with three vehicle classes, which you will switch between while driving.
  • Demolition Derby: Up to 32 players fight in a battle royale-style mode in teams of two to survive until the end. The goal is to crush the other teams and be the last team remaining!
Vehicles for both modes that are not in your possession are made available to you on loan. With your own tuned cars however, you have the ability to fine-tune your vehicles for a clear advantage over those using rental cars.
