Tessellated Gets Big Break With 'Pine and Ginger'
'Pine and Ginger' gives upcoming artiste his first big break into music.
There is a new star on the rise. Producer and songwriter, Joshua Meeks, better known as Tessellated and more popularly known for his part in the growing hit single “Pine and Ginger”. The 20-year-old who added his flavor to the smashing single as well as co-produced it with Amindi K, Frost, and Valleyz, is one to watch. In less than six months after its production Pine and Ginger caught the attention of Warner Bros UK and then was signed to Atlantic Records in September of last year. Currently, the song has racked up over 1 million views on Youtube and close to 4 million on Spotify.

Many of you may be curious about the origin of the name Tessellated. In a sit down interview the upcoming artiste told us about his appreciation for the arts. As he breaks down the background for the name choice you can see how the name perfectly fits with his music.
The name originated from the word “tessellate” which means the coming together or use of different elements in a mosaic. I enjoy the arts so I thought it was a good fit.
The name represents the coming together of different genres and style to create my sound which is a mixture of Fusion, Reggae and Pop. Tessellated stated that he doesn’t want to be categorized to one main genre and wants to explore the possibilities of mix styles to create amazing music.
Tessellated is embracing the new found spotlight and says he is truly grateful for the support he has been receiving on a daily basis. He says he hopes that he can inspire people through his music especially his generation.

It is a good feeling to know that I inspire people of my generation and I hope to produce music that they can relate to as well as music that can inspire them especially in an era where not much positive music is offered to do just that.
The young star is passionate about music and is influenced by many artists of which he mentioned Chance the Rapper and Bob Marley. For Chance, he noted that the way in which he started out doing music up to now inspires him a lot and the connection Bob’s music has on the world. His hope is to continue making great music and reaching people through this medium. Even though the pressure is on for another big hit he is confident he will deliver on it.
