Despite being born into a family of scientists, from his earliest years it was apparent that Veselin 'Veso' Ovcharov’s life would be dedicated to sport. By the age of three, Veso took up skiing, before switching to freestyle snowboarding and graduating from the Bulgarian National Sport Academy with honours.
During his studies Veso discovered his real passion – paragliding, with a particular penchant for acrobatic paragliding. This discovery transformed his life into an exhilarating journey that delivers adventure after adventure.
The early days of his career saw Veso focusing on competing in cross-country flying events, and after only one year of flying, the Bulgarian sportsman won his first international competition.
Success followed his first accolade and in 2006 Veso earned his acro pilot colours in Nepal when he became the first Bulgarian pilot to master manoeuvres such as infinity tumbling.
Veso’s passion has led to some remarkable adventures around the world and allowed him to meet some of the most iconic names in the sport, exposing him to exciting and innovative projects such as Infinity Himalaya.
In 2015 Veso, alongside Petar Lončar and Ondrej Prochazka, broke the Triple Infinity Tumbling World Record, with 126 synchronised infinity tumbles in Cappadocia, Turkey.
Veso is always on the hunt for new challenges and has set his sights on mastering an array of new disciplines, including the adrenaline-fuelled sport of BASE jumping, so watch this space.
