Gachikun came to prominence back in the days of Street Fighter 4 when he played the Sagat character, before becoming one of the early players to play Rashid in Street Fighter 5.
That extra year or so of experience in playing Rashid was perhaps key in giving Gachikun an edge over some of his rivals, as he really began to make a mark on the big stage in 2017, finishing top-16 in half a dozen Premier Events (including a couple of second places at Esports Festival Hong Kong and EGX 2017) and producing a great performance at Red Bull Kumite.
Gachikun then made the move from living in Hiroshima and mainly training and playing online to Tokyo, where he was able to better hone his competitive side.
The success continued in 2018 when he won the Abuget Cup in Indonesia, finished fourth at both Final Round 2018 and at Evolution Championship Series 2018, won the SEA Major Asia Regional Final and finished the season by landing first place at the 2018 Capcom Cup in Las Vegas.
There was yet more success in 2020 when Gachikun triumphed at the Capcom Pro Tour Online East Asia 2 event.
