Dennis Zenz may have made his Dakar Rally debut in 2021, but that’s not to say he arrived at the event without some idea of what to expect. 15 years of co-driving experience on rally stages, first in the German Rally Championship and later in the WRC, mean the German knows what it takes to read a roadbook.
History was made while co-driving for 18-year-old Seth Quintero at the 2021 Dakar as Dennis helped his American team-mate become the youngest-ever stage winner in the rally’s prestigious history.
Dennis went on to give Seth pacenotes at the Andalucia Rally and Rally Kazakhstan, where further stage wins followed. Then at the 2022 Dakar Rally, the German helped Seth set a new record for the most stage wins – picking up 11 in total.
The duo enjoyed more success at the 2023 Dakar Rally as the American driver secured two stage victories and finished in second place overall as part of the Red Bull Off-Road Junior Team USA presented by BFGoodrich.
Zenz and Quintero joined TOYOTA GAZOO Racing to tackle the 2024 Dakar in the elite T1+ car class and were able to finish the rally, finishing in 42nd place overall.
