The 6'6" guard averaged 23 points per game in his senior year, leading Don Bosco to a 26-3 record and a NJSIAA Non-Public A state championship. He consistently showcased his ability to take over games, highlighted by a 38-point performance against Bergen Catholic. His exceptional high school career culminated in numerous accolades, including being named a McDonald's All-American, a Gatorade Player of the Year finalist, and a member of the prestigious Nike Hoop Summit team.

Basketball in his genes

Dylan comes from an impressive basketball pedigree. Following in the footsteps of his brother, Ron Harper Jr, Dylan chose to stay home and play for Rutgers University – he's the highest-ranked recruit to ever commit to the program. Dylan's father, Ron Harper, is a five-time NBA champion, and his mother, Maria, played college basketball and was an assistant coach during Dylan’s tenure at Don Bosco Prep.
In 2025, Dylan’s dreams became reality when he was selected 2nd overall in the first round of the NBA Draft by the San Antonio Spurs — a moment that cemented his rise from New Jersey standout to one of the most exciting young prospects in professional basketball.

The NBA dream comes true

He made his NBA debut off the bench soon after, scoring 15 points, four rebounds and two assists in a 125–92 win over the Dallas Mavericks. A calf injury against the Phoenix Suns sidelined him for 10 games, but after returning he scored a career-high 24 points in March, 2026, in a 134–119 victory over the Indiana Pacers.
Dylan is committed to giving back to his community and is involved in various volunteer activities. Along with his mum and brother, he also founded Harper University, an AAU organization, which focuses on mentorship, player development and expanding access to high-level basketball opportunities for youth athletes.
