Known as the 'Queen of BMX', Mariana Pajón is one of the most successful riders in the history of the sport.

A six-time world champion, Mariana Pajón has long been making history with her effortless style on two wheels. The Colombian started her racing career early, aged just four, and became a world champion by the age of nine.

In 2008, she was again named the Colombian Junior Sports Woman of the Year, a title she had first won in 2007. By 2011 she was named the Colombian Athlete of the Year.

After recovering from a crash-related injury in 2012, Mariana realised her ambition of competing at that summer's Games, returning home with the gold medal after a stunning ride.

Mariana's trail of success has continued, with the 'Queen of BMX' proving herself a role model for the next generation after picking up Pan American, South American and North American champion titles, the coveted gold medal at the BMX World Championship time trials event, as well as the overall UCI championship title.

Almost unstoppable, Mariana continued her glorious run in 2016 when she successfully defended her title in Rio.

On top of all of that, Mariana has been a consistent winner on the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup series and continues to cement her legacy as one of the sport’s greatest ever competitors.
