No matter where you look in the gaming world today, you’re more than likely playing or know someone who is consistently diving into Call of Duty: Warzone. Over the past few months, the rise in popularity for the title has grown exponentially and now stands against other beasts in the battle royale genre such as Fortnite and Apex Legends.
All this hype could make jumping into Warzone ultimately quite daunting. Since its launch, the game has grown dramatically. But while it’s evolved, its gameplay still firmly remains the same. One of the unique features to Warzone is the ability to track down and equip loadout drops around the map. These can randomly spawn, or you can buy them from a buy station with in-game cash obtained throughout the match.
Much like traditional Call of Duty multiplayer, these load-outs can be customised before the match and fit to suit a variety of playstyles. Players can equip guns, attachments and perks to give themselves an advantage in the heat of battle. Finding the right balance can be tricky, but there are some great presets to create that are fantastic for beginners who want to create a class and jump straight into the action quickly.
It’s always worth experimenting with each loadout to see what best suits your playstyle, but these builds will provide suitable starting classes to get you going. No matter what your go-to guns are, there’s certainly a loadout to benefit you in the frantic action. Here are some to get you started.

All-Around Assault Class

The best starting point is creating an overall assault class; here, you can deliver mid-range damage with a range of effective and accessible weapons. Having a reliable secondary weapon alongside some suitable perks will also give you an upper-hand in many combat situations. Like any weapon in the game, you’ll have to power through a few initial levels to unlock an array of attachments, but the progression system is incredibly quick and will only take a few solid matches.
Best Starting Weapon: M4A1
Attachments:
Barrel - FSS 11.5” Commando (Level 9): Increases aiming and movement speed.
Optic - Corp Combat Holo Sight (Level 5): A handy sight to also help improve the accuracy.
Underbarrel - Commando Foregrip (Level 4): Increase accuracy with a greater degree of control.
Rear Grip - Granulated Grip Tape (Level 22): Provides greater stability.
Perk - Sleight Of Hand Perk (Level 13): Enables faster reloading for tense situations.
Best Secondary Weapon: 1911
Attachments:
Barrel - .45 Compact (Level 8): Faster ADS and movement speed
Laser - 1mW Laser (Level 7): Better hip-fire accuracy
Optic - Cronen LP945 Mini Reflex (Level 4): A decent optic for engagements
Trigger Action - Lightweight Trigger (Level 9): allows for a faster firing rate
Perk - Fast Melee (Level 3): ... faster melee
Best Perks:
Scavengers (Level 18): Refill ammo from dead players.
Hardline (Level 1):25% off kiosk prices for killstreaks, field upgrades, and armor plates.
Amped (Level 1): Faster weapon swapping.
Lethal: Frag Grenade.
Tactical: Flash Grenade.
This all around class boasts an incredible amount of versatility. The attachments give more reliability with its stability and speedy reloading, while the secondary pistol is fantastic to switch to in tight situations. With all the perks, the loadout is built around speed and momentum, ensuring you’re always moving and making progress across the map.

Close-Quarters Class

If you’re looking for a class built solely around speed and being able to navigate through closed environments with ease, then a sub-machine gun loadout is perfect. Known for their breezy feel and ability to clear out rooms in a matter of seconds, this loadout is perfect for players who are more prone to throwing themselves into the heat of battle, opposed to sitting back from a safe distance.
Best Starting Weapon: MP5
Attachments:
Barrel - FSS Light (Level 16): Faster aim down sight speed.
Optic - Operator Reflex Sight (Level 2): A handy sight to also help improve the accuracy.
Underbarrel - Commando Foregrip (Level 9): Increase accuracy with a greater degree of control.
Ammunition - 45 Round Mags (Level 13): Larger ammo clips to reduce time spent reloading.
Perk - Sleight Of Hand (Level 37): Enables faster reloading for tense situations.
Best Secondary Weapon: Model 680
Attachments:
Laser - 1mW Laser (Level 10): Faster sprint to fire speed.
Underbarrel - Commando Foregrip (Level 7): Less recoil and more stability.
Perk - Frangible Wounding (Level 5): Inflicts a wounding effect on opponents.
Best Perks:
Double Time (Level 1): Increases the speed of tactical sprint. Increased crouch speed of 30%.
Overkill (Level 8): Carry two primary weapons.
Amped (Level 1): Faster weapon swapping.
Lethal: Frag Grenade.
Tactical: Smoke Grenade.
With this class, speed is of the essence. Everything about the loadout is built around performing actions at the fastest speed possible. The sleight of hand perk may take a few levels to unlock, but even without it the rest of the loadout stands on its own. With perks built for increasing sprint speed, as well as attachments designed for aiming down the sights faster, it’s perfect for players who want to jump into the thick of it. While most guns should favour accuracy, the short range of the MP5 means you’ll always be close to your target and aiming speed is preferred.

Long Range Assault Class

Some players may find that while they prefer the fast paced nature of assault rifle based combat, that charging head first into battle often ends in death. Luckily, Warzone comes with a wide variety of light machine guns that are perfect for tackling situations from afar. Packed with some explosive firepower, this loadout can really pack a powerful punch.
Best Starting Weapon: PKM
Attachments:
Muzzle - Monolithic Suppressor (Level 7): Further damage range.
Optic - Corp Combat Holo Sight (Level 6): A handy sight to also help improve the accuracy.
Stock - FORGE TAC Stalker (Level 8): Increased speed while aiming down sights.
Underbarrel - Commando Foregrip (Level 4): Less recoil and greater aiming stability.
Ammunition - 150 Round Belt (Level 13): Enables larger ammunition rounds.
Best Secondary Weapon: RPG-7
Best Perks:
Cold Blooded (Level 29): Undetectable by AI targeting system and thermal optics.
Ghost (Level 24): Undetectable by UAVs, Radar Drones and Heartbeat Sensors. Immune to snapshot grenades.
Shrapnel (Level 13): Spawn with an extra piece of lethal equipment.
Lethal: Claymore
Tactical: Flash Grenade.
The extra ammo belt and stability options enable the PKM to essentially act as a portable turret, utilising watchout positions to cover environments with an easy to maneuver weapon. The perks and claymores help to cover your position, as the PKM is more suited for stationary positions rather than running-and-gunning. Bundled with an RPG, you’ll be able to deal some explosive firepower from a distance and disable enemy vehicles.

Sniper Class

Snipers are the hardest weapons to master, but one of the most useful tools on the battlefield once learnt. With a well placed shot you’ll easily be able to one-hit enemies which will prove especially useful in solo playlists where a single shot can mean instant death for enemies. In team based modes, covering your teammates with a powerful sniper can prove to be a great way to assist, including situations such as watching over teammates securing a recon or claiming a care package.
Best Starting Weapon: HDR
Attachments:
Muzzle - Flashguard (Level 2): Conceals muzzle flash from sniper.
Barrel - 26.9” HDR Pro (Level 9): Increased damage range, bullet velocity and less recoil.
Optic - Thermal Sniper Scope (Level 11): Easily identify the heat signatures of enemies.
Stock - FTAC Hunter-Scout (Level 19): Aiming stability.
Perk - FMJ (Level 6): Deeper bullet penetration.
Best Secondary Weapon: 1911
Attachments:
Barrel - .45 Compact (Level 8):
Laser - 1mW Laser (Level 7):
Optic - Cronen LP945 Mini Reflex (Level 4):
Trigger Action - Lightweight Trigger (Level 9):
Perk - Fast Melee (Level 3):
Best Perks:
Cold Blooded (Level 29): Undetectable by AI targeting system and thermal optics.
Ghost (Level 24): Undetectable by UAVs, Radar Drones and Heartbeat Sensors. Immune to snapshot grenades.
Shrapnel (Level 13): Spawn with an extra piece of lethal equipment.
Lethal: Claymore
Tactical: Flash Grenade.
The perks and throwables are the same as the long-range assault rifle class as the same elements work with the sniper loadout. They all work together to create a silent watcher, well protected against enemy radars and tactical equipment. With the sniper itself, the attachments bundle together to create a stable and reliable force of power. It also helps that they’re all easily obtained within the first few levels. The thermal sight is particularly useful as it works to easily identify enemy heat signatures from a distance, perfect for beginners and proven to be worthwhile training for later scopes that will provide additional zoom options.
