Cliff Diving Polignano a Mare 2017 trailer

Get ready for the third stop of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series 2017 in Polignano a Mare, Italy.

Always a favourite of the fans and divers Polignano a Mare is an unusual venue where the competitors dive from a rooftop terrace entered via the private living room of a house built over the cliffside.
This year’s event will be the fifth time that Polignano a Mare has hosted a stop on the World Series following renewals in 2009, 2010 and 2015 and around 70,000 fans are expected over the weekend at the southern Italian town in the Bari province.
The men’s overall standings currently sees defending champion Gary Hunt leading the way once more on 330 points, but the Brit is only 20 points ahead of another former champ, Orlando Duque, in second place and Hunt is currently struggling with injury.
Duque turned up the heat on Hunt with a win in Portugal last time out and the Colombian won here in Polignano a Mare in its maiden event back in 2009, while wild card Artem Silchenko is back and looking for a record third victory at this venue.
Home fans will be cheering on wild card Alessandro De Rose, who finished fourth here last year and is back for more in 2017.
Another wild card looking to make an impact is Anna Bader in the women’s competition, with the German having achieved a podium spot in Portugal in her first event back after having a baby.
Defending overall champion Rhiannan Iffland has been struggling with an adductor injury and we’re guaranteed a new women’s winner in Polignano a Mare, as none of the three previous winners are competing this time around.
You can watch live coverage of stop 3 of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series 2017 on July 23 from 13:45 UTC at Red Bull Cliff DivingRed Bull TV and Facebook. Red Bull TV is available on connected TVs, gaming consoles, mobile devices, and more.
