Spectators lined the North Quay, in Falmouth to watch 15 Gig racing teams from across the South West battle it out in ever changing conditions.

Competitors were kept on their toes in this new and exciting Gig racing format. First teams had to swim 100m out to their moored Gigs before racing towards the ship where the pilots then dove of their Gigs and scrambled up the netting to retrieve the team buoy, before an all-out sprint back to shore to secure the buoy as quickly as possible.

After fierce competition in the heats, and a thrilling final, Falmouth A were crowned the first ever Red Bull Sea Sprint Champions after swimming and rowing their way to victory.
