F1 fans love a bit of nostalgia, and so Codemasters’ announcement that they’d be adding a classic mode to the F1 2017 game when it's released on August 25 2017 was met with whoops of cyber delight throughout the gaming community.
Codemasters have so far announced five of the 12 classics they plan to have in the game, the latest of which to be revealed is the Renault R26, the car that Fernando Alonso drove to the Drivers' title in 2006
- 1988 McLaren MP4/4
- 1992 Williams FW14B
- 2002 Ferrari F2002
- 2006 Renault R26
- 2010 Red Bull Racing RB6
“Classics were incredibly well-received when we included them in F1 2013, and in F1 2017 they are back and better than ever,” Paul Jeal, Game Director at Codemasters, announced on the firm’s blog. “With so many great cars to choose from, it was hard to decide on the final 12, but we are delighted with our selection of some of the most successful and iconic fan favourites from the past 30 years.”
We don’t know about you, but we can’t wait to see what the 12 finalists are…
