Ever since Icons were introduced to FIFA Ultimate Team, attaining them has been something of an end goal for FUT managers. Thankfully, coins are easier to get than ever before, so you don't have to wait until September to have enough coinage for an icon.
There are also many cheap baby icons you can use to compete for in the Weekend League, and raise the overall quality of your team. Here's a look at some of the icons you should seek out. It's also worth noting that these prices may fluctuate depending on the state of the FUT market.
Steven Gerrard
Price: 560k
Steven Gerrard's usefulness on the pitch far exceeds what his stats suggest. Despite his pace being rated 70, the Liverpool legend remains one of the best powerhouses on FUT.
Gerrard's short and long passing stats are rated 90 and 92 respectively, giving you the ability to distribute the ball accurately. You'll also be able to score some outrageous goals from dead-ball situations with the Liverpool legend, as his free kick stat is rated a lofty 84.
Gerrard's card is also quite versatile – you can deploy him as a CM, a CAM, a CDM, or even as a false 9 thanks to his well-rounded stats. A shadow chemistry style will eliminate most problems with his pace, making him very usable if your style of play revolves around fast build ups.
Roberto Baggio
Price: 550k
FUT managers were ecstatic after Roberto Baggio's inclusion in the FIFA 19 icon lineup, and with good reason, because Il Divin Codino is widely regarded to be one of the best Italian footballers of all time. He's got the accolades and the stats to prove it, and thankfully those stats translate to his in-game performances.
With a well deserved five star skill rating, and a four star weak foot, you'll be able to skill your way past defenders and create your own iconic moments with Baggio.
The Italian legend isn't as fluid on the ball as Neymar or Hazard, as he's got just 79 agility, but his ball control and composure stats are rated 93 and 92 respectively and allow him to maintain control of the ball while dribbling at high speeds.
Gianfranco Zola
Cost: 623k
Gianfranco Zola is one of the best midfielders to have graced the Premier League. Standing at 5'6" in-game, don't expect to win many aerial duels and physical battles with Zola, as his strengths lie in his quick bursts of pace, sharp turns, and nimble footwork.
The Chelsea legend boasts of 92 dribbling, 92 balance, and 90 ball control, thus allowing you to take players on and confuse your opponents with quick turns. With a Hunter chemistry style, Zola's speed goes up to 98 and his finishing 90, allowing you to finish off the chances you create with his playmaking abilities.
For just under 650k you'll be getting a player on par with a lot of Prime Icons, as he's capable of getting you a few extra wins a week in Division Rivals and the Weekend League.
Pavel Nedved
Price: 601k
Pavel Nedved's baby Icon version plays well above his already impressive stats. He's almost too good to be a baby Icon. It's fair to say EA really did their best to replicate the Juventus legend's ability on the game.
With a five star weak foot that's perfect for first-time finesse shots, along with 84 passing and 87 dribbling stats, there aren't many base Icons better than Nedved on FIFA 19. His creative prowess will provide you with the ability to distribute the ball across large distances, and create space in tight areas.
Nedved's card would work quite well with just about any chemistry style, but for the sake of pace, you'd do well to apply a hunter chem style to max out his speed at 99, and get his shot power up to 96.
Fabio Cannavaro
Price: 506k
To date, Fabio Cannavaro is the only defender to have ever won the Ballon d’or award, having played a major role in Italy's World Cup triumph back in 2006. His baby Icon card is his fastest version on FUT, which more or less makes it his best version on the game.
Cannavaro boasts 82 pace, and 95 with a Shadow chemistry style, which will make him one of the fastest players on the pitch against any team.
In addition to his speed, Cannavaro possesses what most defenders lack – agility and balance. With 86 agility and 81 balance, he'll feel much more pacey in-game, as he'll be able to change direction much quicker than other defenders on and off the ball.
Marc Overmars
Price: 501k
The price difference between Marc Overmars's baby and middle card is so small that you might as well buy his middle card instead, which is a huge upgrade on his base Icon card.
Overmars's middle card possesses 95 pace, but somehow he feels like he's got 150 pace. He's incredibly fast in-game, with or without a pace boosting chemistry style like Hawk or Hunter.
The best chem style for the Dutch icon is Marksman, as it gives his card solid boosts to his pace, dribbling, and physicality, thus making him more deadly going forward. He’s similar to Pavel Nedved, but his three star skill rating limits the skill moves you're able to perform.
Luis Hernandez
Price: 516k
Mexican legend Luis Hernandez is a popular icon amongst FUT managers. He was one of the most used Icons back in FIFA 18 due to his pace and impressive finishing stats, and this year isn't any different, as all three versions of Hernandez are good enough to compete at a top level.
His base Icon card possesses 99 pace and 98 jumping with a Hawk chem style, which allows him to get on the end of OP el tornado crosses. He's also got 91 agility, making him incredibly quick on the ball. The only downside to Hernandez's card is his three star weak foot, but to get around it, all you have to do is focus on hitting shots with his right foot.
Gheorghe Hagi
Price: 495k
Base Icon Gheorghe Hagi is one of the best base midfielders on the entire game. He's got stats in all the right places – his pace is good, his dribbling is superb, and his passing is top notch.
When utilised as a CAM, Hagi dictates the play like a maestro. His close control and passing ability allows you to make quick one-twos between him and your strikers, confusing your opponent's defensive line and opening up acres of space. The Romanian legend is also great at scoring from range, as his ability to take long shots is rated 89, whilst his shot power is maxed out at 99 with a Hunter chemistry style.
With a base pace rating of 86, a Hunter chemistry style's +10 boost makes him a beast in the number 10 role, and capable of outpacing just about anybody.
Dennis Bergkamp
Price: 505k
The non-flying Dutchman is one of the best playmakers you can sign on FUT. Standing at 6'0" and boasting of 75 strength, he's capable of winning aerial duels.
Most playmakers on the game often lack the strength and height to win the ball from goal kicks and crosses, but Bergkamp has both, alongside the stats to create goalscoring opportunities, or even bag some himself.
With 76 pace, base Bergkamp isn't the fastest player on the pitch, but his lack of blistering speed isn't really obvious in-game, as he possesses L/M workrates so should you utilise him as a CAM he'll almost always be in a good position to make the right pass or run into the box for a tap-in or finesse shot.
