At the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, drivers rocket up to the 14,110-foot summit in a test that pits driver and racecar against the mountain. Along the more than 12 miles of road there are 156 dangerous corners that await drivers who make even the slightest mistake.
Legendary sections of the course such as Engineer’s Corner, Rookie’s Corner, Devil’s Playground, and Blue Sky have all claimed their fair share of competitors. We've compiled some of the top crashes at Pikes Peak from POV and spectator cameras; check them out below.
5. Evo crash, 2008
An Evo slides straight off the road at the Bottomless Pit turn. Not the most dramatic, but imagine the way the driver felt on that long slide, just waiting for disaster to strike.
4. Paul Dallenbach, 2012
Dallenbach’s Bank Sidewinder gets stuck in fifth gear near the very start of the race, sending the 1,400hp machine off the road at 130 mph. "I just sliced through the trees like a knife," Dallenbach commented.
3. Bobby Regester, 2011
Bobby Regester misses a turn at Devil’s Playground and rolls his car a few hundred feet down the mountain.

What’s worse than going off the mountain? Going off on turn 156... of 156.
1. Jeremy Foley, 2012
Similar to Bobby Regester’s crash, Jeremy Foley sends his car off at the exact same spot but tumbles down further and in more dramatic fashion, only to be stopped by a boulder a few yards from another 1,000-plus-foot drop.
Current Pikes Peak record-holder Rhys Millen and nine-time World Rally Champion Sébastien Loeb will be blasting their way up the mountain at the 2013 Pikes Peak event, and you can see it live on Red Bull TV on 30th June.
