When it comes to busting out a larynx-led flow, there are few that can out beatbox BeatFox.
The artist known for his sub low bass tones and robotic whistles has picked up fans around the world and now he's teaching you the basics of his craft with a little help from some emojis.
"Emojis are a good use of imagery for newbies because you can relate sounds to the pictures," says the young Londoner.
With the help of the ubiquitous emoticons, we've put together a handy tutorial to give you a start in the ways of beatboxing.
"With adding other sounds, you need to figure out where they fit in and also the way they are heard," says BeatFox. "Does the first sound roll onto the second and rhythmically does it work? So most of the time you say the words but emphasise certain parts like 'BO-oots' and 'CA-ts'.
Now you've got the emoji-led fundamentals from the video above, go further with BeatFox’s five pro tips:
1: Find sounds that work with you and your style.
2: Work on those sounds and tighten them.
3: Go to beatbox events, jams and battles to meet other beatboxers and learn from them.
4: Don't be shy.
5: And just breathe!
